ChildServ was founded in 1894 by Lucy Rider Meyer, a physician, educator, song writer, biblical scholar and Methodist Deaconess. Since that time, ChildServ has grown from an orphanage in Lake Bluff into an agency that builds better lives for 2,800 at-risk children and families each year in Cook, DuPage, Kane and Lake counties.
